  • Grooming Kit - Bristle Brush

    Bristle Brush:

As with pin brushes, there are different bristle brushes available. There are bristle brushes to suit all budgets. The best type of bristle brush is a boar bristle brush, but nylon bristle brushes are also available and work quite well. Boar bristles remove lose dead hair, stimulate the skin and distribute natural oils through the coat for a natural shine.

The photo above shows a small Mason & Pearson bristle brush.

Bristle brushes can be used on all coat types from long and flowing, to coarse hair. Variations in bristle brushes come in the form of length of bristles and also spacing between the bristles. For coarser hair, the bristles should be stiff and for longer hair, the bristles should be more widely spaced and be longer. Bristle brushes are also available in different sizes from slim to small to large.
